Greater Allegheny Baseball's Heavy-Hitter Arroyo Earns PSUAC and USCAA Honors

McKeesport, Pa. - Through a 6-0 Penn State University Athletic Conference week and a .750 batting average, sophomore first baseman Joshua Arroyo (Toa Alta, Puerto Rico/Levittown Baptist Academy) earned himself not only the Penn State University Athletic Conference Student-Athlete of the Week as a hitter, but also the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week accolade for his outstanding effort through April 28, 2015.

Joshua went an astounding 12 for 16 at the plate for a .750 batting average and a .810 on base percentage. The sophomore first basemen drove in 16 RBIs and recorded a set of homeruns as he led his team to a 6-0 record on the conference filled week.

In the field, he recorded a .947 fielding percentage as he tallied 36 put outs to two errors. He also scored 10 runs and stole two bases.

At the end of the week, Arroyo leads the PSUAC with runs batted in with 55 total as well as sitting in third place overall with a .457 batting average. He sits in first place in the USCAA with RBIs and fifth place for his batting average.

Arroyo has led his team to not only first place in the PSUAC, but also first place in the USCAA with an overall record of 26-6, 16-0 PSUAC.
