Field Conditions Postpone Baseball Game vs. CCAC-Boyce
After rain rolled through Western Pennsylvania on Monday night, Tuesday's PSUGA Baseball game against CCAC-Boyce has been postponed. A make-up date is scheduled for Sunday March 31st at 3 p.m. at CCAC-Boyce.
McKeesport, PA. – After a round of rain moved through the area on Monday night, the field at CCAC-Boyce was deemed unplayable and Tuesday’s PSUGA Baseball game against CCAC-Boyce has been postponed. It is the second time a match-up between these two teams has been postponed as weather has not been kind to the two teams this season.
PSUGA has been on a hot streak as of late winning each of their last three games by way of sweeping PSU-Fayette in their Penn State University Athletic Conference opener over the weekend. Their middle of the order served as a catalyst for PSUGA driving in runs left and right for head coach Kenny Creehan and his team.
Brett Yuhas (Munhall, PA./Steel Valley HS) and Dylan Ernst (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport HS) were the two leaders each turning in big weekends. Yuhas hit .556 with one home run and six RBI during the three-game tilt including going 2-4 in the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader with his first collegiate home run and two RBI. Ernst added a 4-4 game in Friday’s contest and hit in six straight at bats before making an out finishing the weekend 6-7 (.857) with four RBI.
For CCAC-Boyce, it gives them a few more days of rest as they try to get back on track having lost each of their last four games. Their most recent contest was a sweep at the hands of Potomac State losing by scores of 9-2 and 5-2. They fell behind early in game one before scoring first in game two only to see their lead slip away.
Tuesday’s game is scheduled to be made up this Sunday, March 31st, at CCAC-Boyce with first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m. at CCAC-Boyce.
