Baseball Continues Winning Ways

(Lemont Furnace, PA) Baseball rides 6-game win streak into final weeks of regular season

Penn State Greater Allegheny Baseball took a pair of games on Saturday, April 10 from Penn State Fayette to raise their overall record to 9-4 and 9-4 in the PSUAC. GA is currently riding a 6-game winning streak and inches closer to securing a PSUAC playoff birth. 

Game 1 was led by Nathan Grice (Mckeesport, PA / Mckeesport HS) who threw a complete game, 3-hit shutout, in leading GA to a 4-0 victory over the home side. Brett Yuhas (Munhall, PA / Steel Valley HS) contributed with a pair of doubles.

In Game 2, Pitcher, Matt Smith (North Versailles, PA/ East Allegheny HS) tossed a complete game 4-hitter in route to a 14-1 victory. Jordan Williams (Mckeesport, PA / Mckeesport, PA) went 4 for 4 with an RBI triple and Douglas Painter (Warren, OH / Eastern Gateway CC) also collected 3 hits.

GA's return home game of the 4-game set on Sunday, April 11 versus Fayette has been postponed.

Greater Allegheny returns to Pullman Park on Tuesday, April 13 for a doubleheader with Penn State Beaver at 3 and 530pm.
