Riding 8-Game Winning Streak, Baseball Prepares for Big Weekend Series

(Mckeesport, PA)

Over the course of the last 8 games, Penn State Greater Allegheny Baseball has scored 72 runs and only given up 11. Riding an 8-game winning streak during that time, GA prepares for a big home and home series with Penn State DuBois this weekend.

During their 8-game run, GA has swept Penn State New Kensington (twice), Penn State Fayette, and Penn State Beaver.

In their most recent games on Tuesday, April 13 against Beaver, GA took things by the scores of 10-2 and 3-1. Nick Krevo (Irwin, PA / Norwin HS) had standout performance in Game 1 including a double, triple, and 2 RBI. GA used 6 pitchers, scattering 6 hits over 7innings.

In Game 2, the pitching staff tallied 11 strikeouts between Matt Givler (Coatesville, PA Coatesville HS), Ryder Bigler (Eureka, UT Tintic HS), and Jordan Williams (Mckeesport, PA / Mckeesport HS).

That leaves the boys from Mckeesport sitting in 3rd place at 11-4 overall and 11-4 in the PSUAC West and preparing for a massive 4 game set with DuBois.

Penn State DuBois sits in 2nd place at 14-2 overall and 11-2 in the PSUAC. They're tied with Penn State Mont Alto who is leading the league in terms of losses but are behind in winning percentage. GA sits 2 games behind both DuBois and Mont Alto. The tango for playoff seeding has begun.

Saturday's home games at Pullman Park begin at 3pm and 5pm. The away return games at DuBois on Sunday will be played at 1pm and 3pm.
