GA Ends Ripken Experience on High Note

Greater Allegheny baseball's trip to the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, SC ended on a high note on Saturday. GA beat Spoon River College 2-1.

Jordan Williams was brilliant in the win throwing a complete game, 1 earned run performance with 11 strikeouts.

Joe Schulte added a triple and Douglas Painter, Vinnie Martin, and Calvin Alexander each had doubles in the win.

Martin's double in the bottom of the first was good enough to give GA a 1-0 lead. Martin would later add a single and see Schulte home in the bottom of the 3rd to make it 2-0.

Spoon River would threaten in the bottom of the 4th scoring on a sacrifice fly to center field.

The complete game was Williams' second on the season. He leads the pitching staff with a 1.13 ERA over 16 innings pitched.

GA returns to Pullman Park on Saturday, March 19 for a doubleheader against Clarion University and on Sunday, March 20 for a doubleheader with Point Park University JV side.
