Men's Basketball Rallies, Holds On For First Win

McKeesport, PA- The PSUGA Men's Basketball team held on to a 10 point lead and never let go. The game was physical and the pace at times was frantic with both teams trading fast break chances.

Four PSUGA players scored in double figures. Sophomore Power Forward Aaron Byrd (Dr. Henry A. Wise) had a double-double, grabbing 11 rebounds and scoring 13 points. Freshmen Guard Robert Taylor (Peabody) also had a big night offensively with 14 points, including a highlight-reel dunk, capping a 10-0 GA run. Junior Guard Mike McCarthy led all scorers with 15 points.

The win was the first one of the season for Coach Manns and company, which now owns a 1-2 record. The team played strong defensively and out-rebounded Penn Highlands. They will look to build on the success of this game tomorrow at 3 PM, when they take on visiting Penn State Lehigh Valley.
