Men's Basketball Cruises Past Penn State Lehigh Valley

McKeesport, Pa- After playing in a close game last night, the PSUGA Men's basketball team apparently had no interest in being involved in another one. They scored early and often on their way to a 100-36 blowout win over Penn State Lehigh Valley.

The Greater Allegheny squad enjoyed a significant size advantage on the front line. This was evidenced by the 51 rebound performance by the team as a whole. Efficiency was the order of the day. The team capitalized on 19 turnovers while committing only 3 themselves. Junior Guard Mike McCarthy (Sto Rox) had a monster game with 32 points, while going 6-10 from beyond the arc. He missed a double-double by just one assist. Sophomore Forward Aaron Byrd (Dr. Henry A. Wise) and Junior Center Jon Schmid (Glenbard West) both finished with double-doubles. The team shot very well, at better than 54% for the game.

This improves their record to 2-2 on the season and 1-0 in PSUAC play, with this second victory coming in consecutive days. The team will not play again until November 28th at WCCC due to Thanksgiving break.
