Men's Basketball Uses OT to Pick Up Huge PSUAC Victory Over Wilkes-Barre

McKeesport, Pa- The Greater Allegheny (7-11, 4-7 PSUAC) men's basketball team outscored visiting Penn State Wilkes-Barre 13-0 in the overtime period, vaulting them to a 70-57 triumph.

Freshman guard Chris Dixon (Homestead, PA/Steel Valley) opened the extra frame with a three-pointer, before junior forward Aaron Byrd's (Upper Malboro, MD/Dr. Henry A. Wise) jumper quickly gave GA a five point lead.  A technical foul against Wilkes-Barre with just under a minute to play, gave Greater Allegheny the opportunity to shoot and convert four times from the foul line;  sophomore forward Petrie Addison (Fort Myers, FL/Florida Christian) capped the scoring effort with a foul shot of his own, clinching the 13-point win.

Addison led GA with 21 points to go along with eight rebounds, with Byrd adding 15 and six.  Freshman guard Eric Cottman (Philadelphia, PA/Mastery Charter) scored 11 points, while junior forward Nick Dizon (Rankin, PA/Woodland Hills) notched a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Greater Allegheny returns to PSUAC action tomorrow afternoon for a 3 PM tilt against Penn State Hazleton.
