Addison's 25 Can't Lift Men's Basketball in 91-58 Loss to Penn State Beaver

McKeesport, Pa- In front of a packed Wunderley Gymnasium for Coaches vs. Cancer, sophomore forward Petrie Addison (Fort Myers, FL/Florida Christian) scored an inspiring 25 points and had nine rebounds, despite the Greater Allegheny (7-16, 5-11 PSUAC) men's basketball team falling to Penn State Beaver, 91-58.

GA trailed 50-30 at the break, but a quick 6-0 run out of the gates cut the lead back down to a manageable 16 points.  That margin would not shrink any further, however, as Beaver used its 50% (37-74) shooting night to earn the win.

Junior forward Aaron Byrd (Upper Malboro, MD/Dr. Henry A. Wise) turned in another strong performance, with 14 points and nine rebounds.  It was the sixth time in the last seven games that Byrd totaled at least 14 points.  Fellow junior forward, Nick Dizon (Rankin, PA/Woodland Hills), also scored in double-figures, netting 12 points.

The GA men will wrap up their 2012-2013 home schedule this Thursday, February 7 with an 8 PM game against Penn State Du Bois.
