McKeesport, Pa. - Coming into today's game the underdog, the Penn State Greater Allegheny men's basketball team dominated Penn State Fayette, Saturday afternoon, in their first Penn State University Athletic Conference match-up of the season, 111-82 home team.

Greater Allegheny took the lead with the first bucket, and never gave it up from there. Sophomore guard Khari Hicks (East Hills, Pa./Imani Christian Academy) hammered down a three-pointer before sophomore guard Denzel Boyer-London (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) completed a jumper, 5-3 GA. Freshman guard Jordon Payne (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport) drained a three before senior guard Jashaun Fontanez (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) snapped with a string of six points, one outside the arc, GA now doubling Fayette, 14-7.

Boyer-London made a layup as freshman forward Isaiah Fluker (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone) mirrored him. Fontanez completed both free-throw attempts before Fluker and junior guard Moe Alli (Edison, N.J./Cardinal McCarrick) both denoted layups, GA leading 24-18.

Hicks completed a pair of free-throws and a jumper as Fontanez separated the two with a made trey, 31-23. Moe dropped a jumper before sophomore forward Curtis Newby (Sharon, Pa./Sharon) drained a dunk to fire up Wunderley Gymnasium, Greater Allegheny now leading 35-27.

Fluker followed up Newby with a hammer of a dunk himself before both Alli and freshman guard Tyrone Johnson (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) added jumpers. Newby laid on a pair of layups as Fluker dropped a dunk and a three-pointer, 50-38 with just one minute until halftime. Newby made a layup before Boyer-London added a free-throw point, 53-41 Greater Allegheny at the half.

Steamrolling from the first half, Greater Allegheny continued to muscle over Fayette. Newby, Hicks and senior forward Tyler Burkhart (Morgantown, W. Va./The Kiski School) all added two points a piece. Newby posted a jumper before Payne drained a three-pointer, 64-43 Lions.

Newby hit a pair of free-throws and a dunk before Fontanez hit a layup and one. Alli drained a pair of three-pointers while Fluker hammered down a three-pointer and a layup, 82-53 Greater Allegheny. Fontanez and Newby added two free-throws while Fluker made a layup. Moe laid on points in the paint while Hicks put up two from the free-throw line. Burkhart downed a layup and one to put up an astonishing 95-64.

Newby denoted a layup as Boyer-London made a jumper. Alli drained a trio from the foul line as to extend the Lion lead. Fluker noted a layup as freshman center Brannon Murphy (Pittsburgh, Pa./University Prep) laid one in the paint. Sophomore forward Malik Patterson-Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Roxborough), freshman guard Billy Cummings (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) and freshman guard Eronn Hammond (Pittsburgh, Pa./Obama Academy) all added free-throw points to complete the Fayette overthrow, Greater Allegheny triumphant 111-82.

Newby and Fluker led the team with 20 points a piece to contribute to the GA victory. Newby went 80% (8-for-10) from the floor with 90% (4-of-5) of his shots made from the free-throw line. The guard posted 20 points with nine rebounds, five steals and two assists. Fluker hammered 90% (9-of-10) and 100% (2-of-2) from outside the arc, posting a total of 20 points, six rebounds, two steals and an assist.

Alli posted 17 points with 50% (6-of-12) of his shots completed from the floor, with five rebounds, three steals and two assists. Fontanez contributed 16 points with 85.7% (6-of-7) of his shots from the free-throw line, as well as six boards and four assists. Boyer-London noted nine assists, seven boards and seven rebounds to add to the victory.

As a team, Greater Allegheny posted 75% (24-of-32) of their shots from the foul line with 50% (39-of-78) of their shots completed from the floor. Greater Allegheny out-rebounded Fayette, 58-42, while adding 33 points off of the 21 Fayette turnovers. The Lions did not give up the lead even once as the home team added 46 points in the paint, 62 points off the bench and 17 points off second-chance.

With their first PSUAC victory of the season, Penn State Greater Allegheny (3-5, 1-0 PSUAC) looks forward to their next competition by the way of NCAA Division II Slippery Rock University. Tip-off is set for Monday evening at 7 p.m.
