DuBois, Pa. - With a 84-77 Penn State DuBois overthrow, the Penn State Greater Allegheny men's basketball team evens their overall record to 6-6 while improving to a 4-0 standing in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

Sophomore guard Khari Hicks (East Hills, Pa./Imani Christian Academy) dropped the first six points of the contest for Greater Allegheny. Sophomore forward Curtis Newby (Sharon, Pa./Sharon) noted a jumper while freshman guard Jordon Payne (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport) stretched GA over DuBois 11-6 within the first six minutes of action.

Junior guard Moe Alli (Edison, N.J./Cardinal McCarrick) laid on a jumper and one before senior guard Jashaun Fontanez (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) and freshman forward Isaiah Fluker (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone) tacked on a pair of jumpers to inflate to eight over the home team.

Moe bucketed a three-pointer as Hicks flexed for four points, while DuBois evened the margin at 25 with six minutes until halftime. Fontanez comprised of the next eight points, with two jumpers and a three-pointer, while sophomore guard Jeremy McMunn (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) added a trey to close the first half of action, Greater Allegheny now trailing DuBois, 43-36.

Fontanez, Payne and Fluker put down jumpers before Payne hammered down a three-pointer, 49-47 DuBois. Newby and Hicks both hit back-to-back jumpers before Payne snapped with a pair of three-pointers to take the lead back, 57-54 GA. Fluker continued with a jumper as McMunn blew up with a duo of buckets outside the arc. Moe advanced the Lions with a three-pointer of his own, GA now ahead of the home team, 68-56 with less than ten minutes of action remaining.

Payne completed two from the free-throw line while Hicks and Fontanez kept the lead to three. Payne, Fontanez and Newby made up the scoring drive of the final three minutes of the game, solidifying the Greater Allegheny 84-77 triumph. 

Payne denoted 22 points with four boards and a steal, while completing 66.7% (4-of-6) from the arc and 58.3% (7-of-12), Fontanez marked 17 points with three rebounds, an assist and a steal while marking six from the field. Hicks marked 63.6% (6-of-16) of his shots from the floor while adding 14 points, five rebounds and two assists. Alli marked 100% of his shots from both the free-throw line (three) and the arc (two). Newby pulled down eight rebounds with five points. McMunn surplused the Lions with nine points and two rebounds while Fluker put up six points and five rebounds.

As a team, Greater Allegheny narrowly out-rebounded DuBois 38-37 while coughing up 14 points on six turnovers. DuBois was outrageously strong from the foul line, as the team shot 88.9% (24-of-27). The Lions marked 44.3% (31-of-70) of their shots from the floor while marking ten three-pointers in the contest. The men put up 15 points off second-chance while noting 14 points off turnovers.

Greater Allegheny (6-6, 4-0 PSUAC) looks forward to Friday, as both the men and women are set to host Penn State York for another Penn State University Athletic Conference match-up. The defending PSUAC champions come to Greater Allegheny for a 8 p.m. tip-off, after the women's match.
