McKeesport, Pa. - Through the final home Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) contest of the 2016-17 season, the Penn State Greater Allegheny men's basketball team swiped a 70-66 decision over Penn State DuBois, Tuesday night.

Sophomore guard Jordon Payne (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport) was first on the board with a fastbreak layup before junior forward Curtis Newby (Sharon, Pa./Sharon) and senior guard Moe Alli (Edison, N.J./Cardinal McCarrick) put up points in the paint, 6-6 five minutes into the game. Sophomore forward George Prota (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward) and senior guard Jumanne Butler-McDaniel (Franklin, N.J./Cardinal McCarrick) both dropped points in the paint before a hummer of a three-pointer from Payne led to a 13-11 GA swing and a DuBois time out, ten minutes remaining until halftime.

Junior guard Khari Hicks (East Hills, Pa./Imani Christian Academy) laid down a fast break layup as Payne and Newby put down points in the paint. Alli hammered a trey to bring GA back to the top, 22-20. Senior guard Denzel Boyer-London (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) forced DuBois into another time-out after Newby dished the ball to Boyer-London for an insane layup. Alli placed another layup to send the two teams into halftime, Greater Allegheny up 26-24.

Alli was the first in the new half to bucket points as Payne nailed down a pair of threes, 34-28. Boyer-London continued from the paint before junior guard Jeremy McMunn (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) added a three, 39-30 seven minutes into the new half. Butler-McDaniel forced a turnover and ripped down the court for a layup, DuBois timeout.

Prota completed points in the paint as Payne clobbered another trey, 46-33 GA. Hicks placed a beautiful jumper before Payne rang down another three-pointer. Hicks zipped up four more points as Prota slashed a pair from the foul line, 57-48.

Newby and Prota finished points in the paint as Greater Allegheny continued to distance themselves from DuBois, 63-51. Payne and McMunn added free-throws to end the game in regulation, 70-66.

Payne netted 23 points as he went 4-for-4 from the foul line. Jordon also added five rebounds, three steals, three blocks and two assists. Prota came off the bench for ten points, six rebounds, two blocks, an assist and a steal while Alli put up nine points, four boards, two assists, a steal and a block. Newby pulled down nine rebounds with six points, four assists, four blocks and three steals.

As a team, Greater Allegheny was out-rebounded by DuBois 55-47 as the men managed 81.8% (9-of-11) from the foul line and 34.6% (27-of-78) from the floor. The Lions added 38 points in the paint, 29 points off turnovers, 12 points off second-chance and 12 points off fastbreak.

Greater Allegheny (19-5, 13-2 PSUAC) looks onward to the final Penn State University Athletic Conference regular season contest of the season as the women travel to Penn State Beaver, Saturday night. The contest is set for tip-off at 7 p.m.
