Greater Allegheny Men's Soccer Shutout by Brandywine, 3-0

Media, Pa. - The Penn State Greater Allegheny men's soccer team dropped their first shutout lost of the 2015-16 season, Saturday afternoon, as the men faltered to Brandywine, 3-0.

Brandywine managed to get on the board just 16 minutes into regulation, as BW's Bill Walleekendeh headed a shot into the back of the net after a cornerkick, 1-0 home team.

The first half rode out with the lone goal, as sophomore goalkeeper Alex Wood (Rockville, Md./St. John's College High) faced eight shots through the intimal 45 minutes.

Twelve minutes into the second half the game brought another Brandywine tally, as Eduardo Gil Matos hammered a long shot driven to the top left corner of the goal, 2-0.

With just over ten minutes left in the contest, Brandywine solidified their win with another goal off of a clean up on a free-kick, ending the final tally at a 3-0 Greater Allegheny disadvantage.

Wood faced 19 shots through regulation, stopping three. Freshman midfielder Ricardo Dip (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Commonwealth) put up four shots while freshman midfielder Belmo Nurkic (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) downed three. Brandywine registered six shots on goal while GA posted just four. 

Greater Allegheny (5-2, 2-2 PSUAC) looks onward to Thursday, as they travel with the women's team to Penn State Beaver for a Penn State University Athletic Conference double-header. The men are set for kick-off at 2 p.m.
