GA Men's Soccer Wraps up Regular Season with 7-1 Blowout over Southern State CC

Hillsboro, Ohio - Through the final regular season contest of the 2015-16 season, the Penn State Greater Allegheny men's soccer team wrangled Southern State Community College, Saturday afternoon, to a 7-1 show-out.

Sophomore midfielder Nick Andrews (Penn Hills, Pa./Serra Catholic) was first on the board, as he collected a ball from sophomore midfielder Marin Marina (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) and put it into the back of the mesh, 1-0 GA.

Southern State CC's Jake Vickers tied the game at one, after he added a shot into the net.

Freshman midfielder Ricardo Dip (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Commonwealth) knocked two into the back of the net, one pass being from sophomore midfielder Bimal Bhattarai (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin), Greater Allegheny leading 3-1.

Bhattarai was next to get on the board, as he accepted a ball from Marina, 4-1. Not long after, Dip served the ball back to Bhattarai, who extended the Greater Allegheny lead to 5-1.

Dip notched his third goal of the game, as freshman midfielder Chandra Gautam (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brashear) moved the ball to his feet, putting up the sixth goal for the Lions. Dip was eager to continue his tally, as he received the ball from sophomore defender Nick Jugovic (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) and noted the 7th and final goal of the contest.

Dip posted four goals with one assist while Bhattarai placed two goals and one assist. Sophomore goalkeeper Alex Wood (Rockville, Md./St. John's College High) posted his eighth win in net with the 7-1 blowout.

Greater Allegheny (8-5, 4-5 PSUAC) moves on with the 7-1 non-conference victory to the Penn State University Athletic Conference championships. The men will travel to Penn State York, Tuesday afternoon, for the First-Round of the playoffs. Kick-off is set for 3:30 p.m.
