GA Softball Drops to Carlow, 19-3
Kennedy Township, Pa. - Being delayed and held back due to weather conditions, the Penn State Greater Allegheny softball team fell to NAIA Division II Carlow University, Thursday afternoon, by the score of 19-3.

Both junior right-handed pitcher Shelby Bendick (White Oak, Pa./McKeesport Area) and freshman third baseman Kaylin Bob (Atlanta, Ga./Forest Park) walked to cover both first and second base in the top of the first inning, before Bendick stole third. Senior first baseman Kelli Hall (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport Area) reached first base on an error, pushing Bendick and Bob to score, GA up 2-0.
Carlow notched 19 runs through three innings of action before Greater Allegheny marked another run in the top of the fifth inning. Freshman right-fielder Albree Weisen (Pittsburgh, Pa./Carrick), sophomore short stop Marina Rinaldi (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia School for Girls) and Bendick walked to fill the bases as Bob pushed Weisen home after an error by the short stop, GA marking their final tally of the game, 19-3 Carlow.
Bob, Bendick and Weisen all posted runs for Greater Allegheny, as each of them had gotten to base on walks.
Bendick pitched four innings as she faced 34 batters, sitting down one on strike-outs.
Greater Allegheny (0-3) is set to travel to Penn State Fayette, Thursday April 9th to kick-off Penn State University Athletic Conference action. The double-header is set for first-pitch at 2 p.m.
