Softball Postponed Due to Weather
The PSUGA Softball team had their game against PSU-Fayette cancelled due to weather. A makeup date has not yet been announced and will be determined at a later date.
McKeesport, PA. – With a band of rain that rolled through southwestern Pennsylvania on Friday morning, the Penn State Greater Allegheny Softball team (0-0, 0-0) had to postpone their season opener with Penn State Fayette (1-8, 0-0) due to field conditions. A makeup date for Friday’s game has not yet been scheduled but will be announced at a later date.
PSUGA will have to wait another day before opening their season as the series shifts back home to No-Offseason Sports in New Kensington for PSUGA’s home opener. After a record setting year in 2017-2018, PSUGA looks to bring more of the same to the field in 2019 as they begin Penn State University Athletic Conference play.
Last season, the two teams split the season series with each team grabbing two wins a piece splitting each of their doubleheaders. Both teams are looking to get off on the right foot and both look to return to the PSUAC playoffs this season.
First pitch for Saturday’s doubleheader at No-Offseason Sports is scheduled for 2 p.m. followed by the second game at 4 p.m. Come out and support your Lady Lions at 1590 Saxenburg Blvd. Tarentum, PA.
