Floyd and Layne Lead Women's Basketball to 62-53 Victory Over CCAC-Boyce

McKeesport, Pa. – Sophomore duo guard Nakayla Layne (Pittsburgh, PA) and forward Christina Floyd (Philadelphia, PA) go on to post 18 points apiece to assist the women's basketball team of Penn State Greater Allegheny in taking  a 62-53 victory over CCAC-Boyce Wednesday night.

Floyd went on to post her third double-double out of the five games played thus far, as she posted 14 rebounds alongside her 18 points, also shooting 2-2 on free throws. Layne, also posting 18 points, was a force to be met as she was also able to gather seven rebounds.
 
Another key player on the court was sophomore guard Taylor Fulton (West Mifflin, PA) as she posted 13 points, dishing out nine assists and gobbling up three rebounds.

Greater Allegheny was able to achieve 30 points in the paint along side notching 17 points on the fast break. Another key component for GA was completing free-throws, going on to swish 75% of those shot (6-8).

The Lions were able to shut down CCAC's offense, allowing them to complete only 21 of their 63 shots taken (33.3%). The lockdown on defense also forced 18 turnovers, which led GA to their third victory of the season, second consecutive.
 
Penn State Greater Allegheny next travels to Penn State Brandywine to kick off  PSUAC play; tip-off set to begin at 6 p.m on November 30.
