Early Second Half Drought Dooms Women's Basketball in 77-53 Loss to Carlow

McKeesport, Pa- A jumper from sophomore guard Ciera Hussey (Philadelphia, PA) gave the Greater Allegheny women's basketball team a 33-31 lead in the opening two minutes of the second half, before an 18-6 run from Carlow (5-4) put the visiting Celtics ahead for good, as they went on to win 77-53.

  GA struggled shooting the ball all night, going just 18-71 (25.4 %) from the field, but held their own on the glass by accumulating 14 offensive rebounds.  Sophomore guard Taylor Fulton (West Mifflin, PA)  continued to put up big numbers on offense, tallying 20 points on the night.  Fellow sophomore guard Nakayla Layne (Pittsburgh, PA) added a double-double, with 14 points and 12 rebounds.  Hussey would also hit double-digits in points for Greater Allegheny, with 10.

  The non-conference loss drops GA's record to 5-4 overall while they remain 1-1 in the PSUAC.  Next on deck for the Lady Lions, a 1 PM game this Saturday, December 8 against PSUAC foe, Penn State Worthington Scranton.
