Floyd's Double-Double Vaults Women's Basketball to 64-56 Comeback Win

York, Pa- Down by eight three separate times in the second half, the Greater Allegheny (8-5, 3-2 PSUAC) women's basketball team rallied behind sophomore forward Christina Floyd's (Philadelphia, PA) fifth double-double of the season, to earn a 64-56 victory over PSUAC counterpart, Penn State York.

GA led 30-25 at the break, before a 14-0 York run pushed them ahead 39-30.  Floyd's jumper with just under six minutes remaining in the second half brought the score to within two, and would serve as the catalyst for her 11 straight points.  Greater Allegheny extended its lead to 64-55 following two free throws from sophomore guard Taylor Fulton (West Mifflin, PA), before hanging on in the final 30 seconds for their third conference win.

Floyd led GA with 20 points and 16 rebounds, with Fulton adding 16 and eight assists.  Sophomore guard Nakayla Layne (Pittsburgh, PA) also hit double-figures, with 14 points.  Despite allowing York to shoot 44% (21-48) from the field, the Greater Allegheny defense did not surrender a single made field goal in the final 8:31 of the second half.

GA will get a quick rest before returning to action tomorrow afternoon for a 1 PM, PSUAC contest against Penn College.
