Fulton's Double-Double Leads Women's Basketball to PSUAC Victory

McKeesport, Pa- Sophomore guard Taylor Fulton (West Mifflin, PA/West Mifflin) notched her fourth double-double of the season, boosting the Penn State Greater Allegheny's women's basketball team to a 76-59 takeover as  Penn State Mont Alto came to the Wunderley Gymnasium Saturday afternoon for a PSUAC conference match-up.

 GA came out strong, as the women were up 24-10 within the first eight minutes of play. Of those twenty-four points, six different Lions answered. Fulton drilled a late jumper, sending the game into halftime with a tally of 40-27.
 
The second half was pretty evenly contested as Greater Allegheny narrowly outscored Mont Alto by six. Mont Alto's twenty-five turnovers directly led to their demise. As such, the Greater Allegheny Lions racked up a conference win, boosting their record to 12-10, 7-5 PSUAC.
 
Taylor Fulton was able to net 25 points as well as dishing out 15 assists to complete the game. GA got a stand-out performance from sophomore guard Nakayla Layne (Pittsburgh, PA/Taylor Allderdice), as she posted 21 points, boarded seven rebounds as well as caught seven steals. Solid turnouts from sophomore forward Christina Floyd (Philadelphia, PA/Sts. Neumann-Gorett), posting 11 points and nine rebounds as well as junior guard Andrea Brown (Coraopolis, PA/Cornell) with nine points and five boards.
 
Penn State Greater Allegheny sees action again at home on Tuesday night. The women see another conference match-up as Penn State Beaver comes to town for a 6 p.m. tip-off.
