McKeesport, Pa. - Through the championship game of the 2014 Penn State Greater Allegheny Tip-Off Tournament, senior power forward Christina Floyd (Philadelphia, Pa./Sts. Neumann-Goretti) established her 1,000th career rebound  in a Penn State Greater Allegheny uniform.

In the hunt for a Championship from the Greater Allegheny Tournament, the home team was hungry for a win. Floyd earned two free-throw points before freshman guard Tori Johnston (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) and freshman point guard Mandi Johnston (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) achieved layups. Floyd ignited Greater Allegheny with a three-pointer and a layup to bring Greater Allegheny closer to Clermont's lead, 13-11. 

Clermont continued their run before M. Johnston hammered down a jumper and one alongside a three-pointer. Floyd added eight points through five minutes while Clermont extended their lead on Greater Allegheny, 36-25. The Johnston sisters teamed up for five points before the buzzer sounded for half, Clermont ahead 36-30.

Freshman forward Kelly Moore (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen) was the first to put up tallies for Greater Allegheny in the second half. Floyd added four before M. Johnston aced two three-pointers and a layup, inching the home team closer to Clermont 50-44. Floyd earned a layup and one as sophomore guard Tra-Esha Carswell (Homestead, Pa./Steel Valley) noted a free-throw. M. Johnston, Moore and Floyd all added two to bring Greater Allegheny within two with less than seven to go. 

Moore was the final score of the game, as the forward made a jumper, polishing off the scoring tally for Greater Allegheny, 74-60, in Clermont's favor.

As a team, Greater Allegheny completed 5-of-9 from the free-throw line while achieving 28 points in the paint and 17 points on second-chance.

As mentioned above, Floyd marked her 1,000th career rebound in a Greater Allegheny jersey. She achieved 26 points and 21 rebounds to finish the game, swelling her over the 1,000 mark and marking herself the All-Tournament Player of the Game for Penn State Greater Allegheny. With her points and rebounds, the 5-11 forward ended the game with two steals while completing 3-of-4 free-throws attempted.

M. Johnston increased the score 20 points with seven rebounds and five assists. 

Greater Allegheny (1-2) will rest up before they go on the road to Southern State Community College this weekend. Game times for Friday are to be announced.
