Lemont Furnace, Pa. - The Penn State Greater Allegheny women's basketball team traveled to Penn State Fayette, Friday evening, for a Penn State University Athletic Conference match-up, where GA dropped to Fayette, 71-56.

Fayette jumped out to a five point lead before freshman guard Tori Johnston (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) polished off a three-pointer. Freshman forward Kelly Moore (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen) contributed four points before freshman guard Mandi Johnston (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) posted a trey to bring the game to a Greater Allegheny lead just three minutes into the game, 10-7.

T. Johnston knocked down another three-pointer before M. Johnston slashed both free-throws. Moore added on a jumper and a layup before senior power forward Christina Floyd (Philadelphia, Pa./Sts. Neumann-Goretti) put down both free-throws and a jumper to tie the game at 23. With time winding down, Moore tacked on a jumper as Floyd drained a three frmo outside the arc. Freshman forward Bethany Siebert (Tarrs, Pa./Southmoreland) put down a free-throw to mark the last point scored in the first half for Greater Allegheny, Fayette ahead 33-29.

Floyd put down two free-throws before freshman forward Morgan McCallister (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) made a layup. Moore and Floyd topped off a layup apiece as M. Johnston dumped on two foul shots. M. Johnston and Moore added on a jumper each to bring the game to a Fayette 55-43 lead with less than seven minutes left in regulation.

M. Johnston knocked down four free-throws and a three-pointer to bring the game to a 65-50 Fayette match with two minutes to play. Moore, Floyd and senior forward Kimberly Hall (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport) add on two points each to the final Greater Allegheny score, concluding the PSUAC match at a 71-56 Fayette victory.

Floyd dropped 80% (4-of-5) of her shots taken from the foul line, as the power forward recorded 15 boards and 13 points for her tenth double-double of the season. Moore posted 16 points from the floor while posting nine rebounds, five blocks and two assists while shooting 61.5% (8-of-13) from the floor. M. Johnston earned 80% (8-of-10) of her free-throws attempted to go on and add 16 points alongside six rebounds and three assists.

As a team, Greater Allegheny bucketed 68.4% (13-of-19) of their free-throws taken. The GA Lions managed to put up 20 second-chance points, ten points in the paint and seven points off turnovers.

Greater Allegheny (3-10, 1-4 PSUAC) goes on hiatus for winter break until Thursday January 15, 2015, when GA is set to travel to Carlow University. The women are set to tip-off at 6 p.m.
