Mandi Johnston Receives First Team All-Conference as Burke Lands Honorable Mention

State College, Pa. - With their hard-work through the 2015-16 season for the Penn State Greater Allegheny women's basketball team, sophomore guard Mandi Johnston (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) earned the Penn State University Athletic Conference First Team All-Conference award as freshman forward Tiajuanna Burke (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport) swiped PSUAC Honorable Mention.

Johnston appeared in 24 games through her second season with the blue-and-white, depositing 499 points on 71.5% (108-of-151) from the foul line, 40.9% (178-of-435) from the floor along with 35 three-pointers. The sophomore pulled down 123 rebounds with 112 assists, 51 steals and eight blocks.

Mandi is currently holding down first place in the PSUAC and fifth in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) for points per game with 20.8 and third in the USCAA for overall with 499 points.

The guard was awarded USCAA Women's Division II Basketball Player of the Week as well as PSUAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for November 24th and PSUAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her work through November 10th.

In just 12 games for Greater Allegheny, Tiajuanna posted 188 points on 57.6% (72-of-125) of her shots from the floor and 62% (44-of-71) from the foul line. The forward pulled down 161 boards, 15 steals, seven assists and three blocks. The freshman contributed eight double-doubles to the team on the season.

Burke earned USCAA Women's Division II Basketball Player of the Week as well as PSUAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her efforts through January 19th.
