Wrestling Opens Season With 21-15 Win Over Slippery Rock

McKeesport, Pa- The Greater Allegheny wrestling team opened their 2012-2013 campaign with a 21-15 victory over visiting Slippery Rock.

  Freshman Erik Rayman (Norwin, PA) got GA started off on the right track with his 4-1 win in the 141 match.  Sophomore Tyler Spencer (Langley, PA) followed three defeats with a 5-3 decision at 174, before freshmen Pat Corcoran (North Catholic, PA) and Genkie Stoutamire (Thomas Stone, MD) earned victories by forfeit at 184 and 197, respectively.  Sophomore Andre Ellis (Steel Valley, PA) then secured the Greater Allegheny victory with his 3-2 win in the 220 match.

  The win gets Greater Allegheny out to a 1-0 start overall, with their next match coming Wednesday, November 7 at Penn State Mont Alto.  The PSUAC match begins at 7 PM.
