Rayman Paces GA Wrestlers with Second Place Finish at Waynesburg Invitational

Waynesburg, Pa- Freshman Erik Rayman (North Huntingdon, PA) kicked off the 2013 calendar year much the same way he ended 2012, by earning a second place finish in the third annual Waynesburg Invitational. 

  Rayman advanced via a 5-3 overtime win in his opening match, before picking up 3-0 and 6-5 decisions to vault him into the finals of the 141 weight class.  He was then defeated 4-2 in the championship bout, sending him to just his second loss this season.  Two of Rayman's opponents- Marcello (6-5 dec.) and Richmond (2-4 dec.)- are recognized by d3wrestle.com as being national contenders.   

  Sophomore Matt Lago (Jeannette, PA) picked up two wins on the afternoon at 157, with fellow sophomore Andre Ellis (Munhall, PA) earning a victory in the 285 weight class.

  Greater Allegheny (3-3, 2-2 PSUAC) will return to PSAUC contests this Wednesday, January 9 for a 7 PM match at Penn State New Kensington.
