Wrestling Goes 2-1 in Quad Match at Waynesburg

Waynesburg, Pa- The Greater Allegheny (5-6, 4-3 PSUAC) wrestling team picked up two PSUAC victories and one non-conference defeat in their quad match, hosted by Waynesburg University.  GA defeated Penn State Fayette 30-21 and Penn State Beaver 20-3, while falling to Division III Waynesburg, 54-0.

 Sophomore Matt Lago (Jeannette, PA/Penn-Trafford) went 2-1 in his 165 lb matches, with a 13-4 major decision against Beaver and a forfeit win against Fayette.  Freshman Erik Rayman (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) also went 2-1 in his 149 lb matches, earning a forfeit victory against Beaver and by pinning his Fayette opponent. Sophomore Steven Scott (Pittsburgh, PA/Perry Traditional Academy) won each of his two matches at 285, including a major decision against Beaver.

  Greater Allegheny will wrap up their regular season schedule next Monday, February 4 with a 6 PM, PSUAC match at Penn State New Kensington.
