Wrestling Handles New Kensington in 30-12 Triumph
New Kensington, Pa- Four Greater Allegheny wrestlers pinned their match opponents, improving their record to 6-6 overall (5-3 PSUAC) following a 30-12 victory over Penn State New Kensington.
Freshman Erik Rayman (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) opened the pin-fest by downing his 149 lb adversary, and was followed by sophomore Matt Lago's (Jeannette, PA/Penn-Trafford) 12-6 decision at 157 lbs, and sophomore Tyler Spencer's (Pittsburgh, PA/Langley) 11-6 decision at 165 lbs.
Sophomore Myan Haviv (Pittsburgh, PA/Allderdice), freshman Genkie Stoutamire (Waldorf, MD/Thomas Stone), and sophomore Andre Ellis (Munhall, PA/Steel Valley) then closed out the win with three straight pins, at 184 lbs, 197 lbs, and 235 lbs, respectively.
The PSUAC win wraps up the 2013 regular season schedule for GA, with their next bout coming in the PSUAC/USCAA Invitational on February 16.
