Women's Volleyball Splits a Pair of PSUAC Matches

Uniontown, Pa- The Penn State Greater Allegheny women's volleyball team defeated Penn State Beaver for the second time this season, sweeping the match 3-0 (25-22, 26-24, 25-18), before falling to Penn State Fayette 3-0 (9-25, 9-25, 13-25).

  Sophomore Alyssa Finocchi (Baldwin, PA) accounted for nearly half of GA's 19 kills against Beaver, tallying nine.  She added six service aces to go along with three blocks.  Freshman Kayla Franklin (Thurston, MI) drilled four kills, while sophomore Christina Floyd (St. John Neumann, PA) added two of her own. 

  Sophomore Audra Besnak (Steel Valley, PA), freshman Haley Worden (Madonna, PA), and Finocchi led GA with two kills each against Fayette, with Worden also notching three assists and two service aces.  Sophomore Corinne Wilson (Bethel Park, PA) added a service ace and two digs. 

  Following the PSUAC split, Greater Allegheny now stands at 6-10 overall and 4-3 in the PSUAC.  The women return to the court this Saturday, October 13 for a quad match at Penn State Beaver.  GA faces off against Penn College at 2 PM, before battling Penn State Hazleton at 4 PM.
