McKeesport, Pa- In their first of three straight days of key PSUAC matches, the Greater Allegheny women's volleyball team used a balanced attack to defeat visiting Penn State DuBois, 3-1 (25-4, 22-25, 25-15, 25-12).

GA dominated early and often, with PSUAC Player of the Week, sophomore Alyssa Finocchi (Baldwin, PA), leading the way with 10 kills.  It was the seventh time this season that Finocchi has drilled 10 or more kills, and her fourth straight PSUAC match in which she accomplished the same feat.  She also added three service aces and 18 digs.

Fellow sophomore Audra Besnak (Steel Valley, PA) landed eight kills for the second straight PSUAC match,  to go along with six service aces and 12 digs.  Four other GA women notched multiple kills: sophomore Christina Floyd (St. John Neumann, PA) had six, freshman Kayla Franklin (Thurston, MI) five, sophomore Corinne Wilson (Bethel Park, PA) four, and freshman Haley Worden (Madonna, PA) three.  Wilson also added six service aces, with Worden accumulating 21 assists.

The victory improves Greater Allegheny's record to 10-14 overall and, more importantly, to 8-6 in the PSUAC.  GA will be right back on the court tomorrow afternoon, for a 12 PM match at Penn State New Kensington.
