Women's Volleyball Downs New Kensington

New Kensington, Pa- Sophomores Alyssa Finocchi (Baldwin, PA) and Audra Besnak (Steel Valley, PA) combined for 22 kills and 46 digs, to lead the Greater Allegheny women's volleyball team to a 3-1 (25-17, 25-18, 22-25, 25-15) victory over Penn State New Kensington. 

  Finocchi landed 15 kills and two service aces, with Besnak drilling seven kills and two service aces, as well.  Freshman Haley Worden (Madonna, PA) had five kills of her own, and eclipsed the 20 assist mark (21) for the third time in the last four PSUAC matches.  Sophomore Christina Floyd (St. John Neumann, PA) added four service aces and 13 digs, while fellow sophomore Corinne Wilson (Bethel Park, PA) accumulated two kills and six digs.  Freshman Kayla Franklin (Thurston, MI) had multiple kills as well, notching three.

  With their second straight PSUAC win, Greater Allegheny boosts its record to 11-14 overall and 9-6 in the PSUAC.  They will finish up their regular season tomorrow, with a 12 PM match against Penn State DuBois- a win would secure the #6 seed in the upcoming PSUAC playoffs.
