Greater Allegheny Volleyball Posts 3-0 Victory Over PSU New Kensington

McKeesport, Pa. - The Penn State Greater Allegheny volleyball team improved their record to 4-8 [USCAA], 2-2 [PSUAC] by coasting to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-8) triumph over Penn State New Kensington in a conference match-up Tuesday night.

Seven different players recorded kills in the victory, led by junior middle hitter Alyssa Finocchi (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) with eleven. Finocchi made it a triple-double by also recording a team-best 17 digs and 14 attacks. Other top hitters included junior middle hitter Christina Floyd (Philadelphia, Pa./St. John Neumann), who had five kills and 15 attacks, and freshman right-side player Krystal Waller (Munhall, Pa./Steel Valley), who notched four kills and eleven attacks.

Freshman Adrielle Brisbon (Fort Washington, Md./Friendly) set up the attack with 20 assists. The Lions totaled 19 aces in the victory, led by freshman outside hitter Raven Gribbins (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oyler) and freshman libero Brianna Audette (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville), who had six apiece. Defensively at the net, Floyd had two assisted blocks alongside Waller and Gribbins, who registered one assisted block apiece.

Greater Allegheny are on the floor again Thursday night for a non-conference match at home. At 6 p.m., the Lions will play Westmoreland County Community College in Wunderley Gymnasium.
