Carlow Slips Past Lion Volleyball

McKeesport, Pa. - The Penn State Greater Allegheny women's volleyball team took a 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-13) setback as the Celtics of Carlow University Tuesday night traveled to Wunderley Gymnasium for a non-conference match-up.

Junior middle-hitter Alyssa Finocchi (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) hit a .345 (11-for-29), achieving six digs, six block solos and one service ace. Junior middle hitter Christina Floyd (Philadelphia, Pa./St. John Neumann) had a team-high nine digs as well as going up for five block solos and two block assists. Sophomore Krystal Waller (Munhall, Pa./Steel Valley) matched Floyd's five block solos and assisted on three additional blocks.

Leading the team with assists was freshman setter Adrielle Brisbon (Fort Washington, Md./Friendly), who finished with eight alongside two service aces. Freshman libero Brianna Audette (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) assisted the team with seven digs.

Greater Allegheny (6-12, 4-4) is back in action at home on Saturday. The Lions look onward to host Penn State Fayette for a conference match-up with tip-off set at 12 p.m.
