McKeesport, Pa. - The Penn State Greater Allegheny women's volleyball team hosted Penn State Fayette alongside Oberlin College on Saturday afternoon for a pair of matches.
GA played conference rival Penn State Fayette to begin the day. Contributions from junior middle hitter Christina Floyd (Philadelphia, Pa./St. John Neumann), who registered four kills, six block solos and one block assist, and junior middle hitter Alyssa Finocchi (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin), who posted five kills, four aces and ten digs. Freshman setter Adrielle Brisbon (Fort Washington, Md./Friendly) helped out with eleven assists alongside sophomore Krystal Waller (Munhall, Pa./Steel Valley), who got up for five block assists. The Greater Allegheny Lions then went on to face Oberlin College after Fayette and Oberlin had a match. Finocchi had six kills and five digs while Brisbon assisted eight of the eleven kills over the duration of the game. Freshman Brianna Audette (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) matched Floyd with seven digs apiece. Greater Allegheny went on to fall to Oberlin, 25-13, 25-15, 25-4.
Penn State Greater Allegheny was set to travel to Penn State DuBois the next day, but the game ended in forfeit for DuBois, granting GA the 3-0 victory.
GA sees conference play Wednesday, as they travel to Penn State Beaver for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
