Greater Allegheny Women's Volleyball Swipes Their Ninth PSUAC Victory

McKeesport, Pa. - The Penn State Greater Allegheny women's volleyball team overcame Penn State University Athletic Conference foe, Penn State New Kensington, 3-0, to roll to their ninth conference victory on the season.

New Kensington came to Wunderley Gymnasium, where GA took all three sets by the scores of 25-20, 25-22 and 25-23.

Senior middle hitter Alyssa Finocchi (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) completed 13 kills on 27 total attempts, finishing with a kill percentage of 44.4%. Finocchi helped her team with four digs, three service aces and three total blocks.

Sophomore setter Adrielle Brisbon (Fort Washington, Md./Friendly) assisted 31 kills through three sets, alongside three service aces, three digs and one block assist.

Freshman middle hitter Cheyenne Boulware (Centreville, Pa./Centreville) got into the mix with seven kills contributed along with one dig.

Senior middle hitter Christina Floyd (Philadelphia, Pa./Sts. Neumann-Goretti), freshman right side Emily Taylor (Aliquippa, Pa./Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter) and freshman right side Laura Vazquez (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Cupey Maria Montessori) matched one another with six kills apiece through three sets of action. Floyd added three service aces as well as two digs. Vazquez got down for nine digs and four service aces. Taylor also recorded three digs along with two total blocks.

Sophomore defensive specialist Brianna Audette (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) supplied ten digs with two assists.

Greater Allegheny (16-7, 9-4 PSUAC) looks forward to Thursday, as steep Penn State University Athletic Conference battle comes to Wunderley Gymnasium with Penn State Fayette. The showdown is set for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
