Greater Allegheny Volleyball Falls 3-2 to Penn State Beaver

Monaca, Pa. - The Penn State Greater Allegheny women's volleyball team fell narrowly to Penn State Beaver, Wednesday evening, after five sets of action.

Beaver took the first set 25-15 before they narrowly escaped the second set with a 25-24 upset. Greater Allegheny came out fierce in the next two sets, as GA came out on top 25-17 and 25-21. The final set finished with Penn State Beaver victorious, 15-10.

Through the five sets, senior middle hitter Alyssa Finocchi (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) completed 22 kills along with 18 digs and a block solo. Sophomore setter Adrielle Brisbon (Fort Washington, Md./Friendly) set up 30 kills through those five sets, completing three herself.

Sophomore defensive specialist Brianna Audette (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) got down for 16 digs alongside freshman right side Laura Vazquez (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Cupey Maria Montessori) getting down for 11.

Greater Allegheny (11-7, 4-4 PSUAC) looks forward to a big weekend on the road, as the women go to Penn State Wilkes-Barre on Saturday. GA goes up against Penn State Worthington-Scranton at 2 p.m. and then Penn State Wilkes-Barre around 3:30 p.m.
