Greater Allegheny Volleyball Sweeps Westmoreland County CC, 3-0

Youngwood, Pa. - The Penn State Greater Allegheny women's volleyball team traveled to Westmoreland County Community College, Friday night, where GA took three sets to none by tallies of 25-15, 25-10 and 25-21.

Sophomore setter Adrielle Brisbon (Fort Washington, Md./Friendly) assisted 34 kills through the three sets to lift the efforts of Greater Allegheny. Brisbon also placed five service aces and one kill. Senior middle hitter Christina Floyd (Philadelphia, Pa./Sts. Neumann-Goretti) completed eleven kills to add to GA's mark, while putting up seven digs, two service aces and two total blocks.

Senior middle hitter Alyssa Finocchi (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) posted nine kills with four total blocks and three digs to contribute to the WCCC overtake. Freshman defensive specialist Tori Johnston (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) got down for 16 digs with one kill and one assist. Sophomore right side Laura Vazquez (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Cupey Maria Montessori) surplused Greater Allegheny with six kills, eight digs, two service aces and one block assist.

Freshman right side Emily Taylor (Aliquippa, Pa./Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter) completed seven kills while freshman middle hitter Cheyenne Boulware (Centreville, Va./Centreville) polished off five kills herself. Sophomore defensive specialist Brianna Audette (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) grabbed ten digs, one kill and one assist.

Penn State Greater Allegheny (18-9, 9-6 PSUAC) looks onward to the weekend, as the Lady Lions travel to Penn State York on Sunday for a double-header against Penn State York and Penn College. GA will see York first for a 2 p.m. tip-off.
