Greater Allegheny Women's Volleyball Falters to Fayette, 3-0

Lemont Furnace, Pa. - Through three sets of action, the Penn State Greater Allegheny women's volleyball team fell to Penn State University Athletic Conference foe, Penn State Fayette, Wednesday night, 3-0.

The three sets were decided by margins of 25-10, 25-9 and 25-9.

Freshman setter Courtney Shadd (Hanover Park, Ill./Bartlett) put up ten assists, a block and a dig while sophomore outside hitter Tori Johnston (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) placed six kills, two digs, a block and an assist. Sophomore outside hitter Laura Vazquez Diaz (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Cupey Maria Montessori) got down for nine digs and three kills.

Greater Allegheny (5-8, 6-6 PSUAC) look forward to a Penn State University Athletic Conference weekend on the road, as the women travel to both Penn State York and Penn State Brandywine for two matches each day. On Saturday, the Lions square off against Penn State York at 2 p.m. and then Penn State Mont Alto at 4 p.m. On Sunday at Brandywine, GA goes up against the home team at 12 p.m. and then against Penn State Schuylkill at 2 p.m.
