Three Greater Allegheny Women's Volleyball Players Named to PSUAC All-Conference Team

State College, Pa. - Through the 2015-16 Penn State Greater Allegheny women's volleyball season, sophomore middle hitter Laura Vazquez Diaz (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Cupey Maria Montessori), sophomore middle hitter Tori Johnston (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) and freshman setter Courtney Shadd (Hanover Park, lll./ earned Penn State University Athletic Conference honors for their contributions.

Vazquez Diaz earned a place on the First-Team All-Conference ballot, as she contributed in 16 matches and 54 sets for Greater Allegheny through her final season of competition. Vazquez Diaz sits in 3rd place overall in the PSUAC with kills per set (3.07) and 4th with total kills (166). The sophomore got down for a total of 152 digs in the season alongside placing 44 service aces, 15 assists and five blocks.

For her efforts, Johnston was named Penn State University Athletic Conference Honorable Mention after she played in 48 matches for Greater Allegheny in her last season of competition with Greater Allegheny. The middle hitter sits in 2nd place in the PSUAC for kills per set (3.27) while holding down 5th in service aces per set (0.96). Tori posted 157 kills, 108 digs, 46 service aces, 14 assists and two blocks on the season.

With her addition to the team, Shadd earned the accolade of Honorable Mention within the PSUAC. In her first season with GA, Shadd sits in 2nd place in both the PSUAC and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association for service aces per set with 1.35. Courtney is sitting in 4th in the PSUAC for assists per set with 5.15. Shadd has played in 54 sets for the blue and white while placing 278 assists, 73 service aces, 51 digs, 18 kills and eight total blocks.
