Greater Allegheny Women's Volleyball Strong-Arms DuBois, 3-0

McKeesport, Pa. - Through a team effort, the Penn State Greater Allegheny women's volleyball team took a 3-0 Penn State University Athletic Conference triumph over Penn State DuBois, Tuesday night.

The three sets were decided by margins of 25-23, 25-9 and 25-21.

Freshman middle hitter Dorina Adou (Kyoto, Japan/Obama Academy) got down for a team-high 17 digs as junior right side Emily Taylor (Aliquippa, Pa./Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter) noted 14 digs, four kills, two assists and a service ace. Junior middle hitter Laura Vazquez-Diaz (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Cupey Maria Montessori) added 13 digs, seven kills and five service aces. Freshman libero Hayley Maksin (Port Vue, Pa./South Allegheny) noted nine digs and a service ace.

Sophomore setter Courtney Odell Shadd (Hanover Park, Ill./Bartlett) assisted 12 kills with four digs and three kills.

Greater Allegheny (5-7, 4-5 PSUAC) looks onward to Saturday, as they travel for another PSUAC battle. The battle between Penn State Beaver and GA is set to begin at 12 p.m.
