Volleyball Picks Up Big Win vs. WCCC

Youngwood, Pa. – The Penn State Greater Allegheny Volleyball Team (4-8, 2-5) picked up a big win on Thursday when they defeated Westmoreland County Community College (1-13, 0-10) three sets to two.

This was a back and forth contest throughout as both teams fought hard the entire match. It would be PSUGA who took the first two sets to take a two sets to nothing lead. However, WCCC would answer those two sets with two set wins of their own to even the match at two sets a piece. It would come down to one last exciting set to see who would get the victory in this match-up.

PSUGA would fight hard and pull out the win collecting the match victory three sets to two. It was PSUGA’s second win of the season over WCCC as they beat them earlier in the year inside the Wunderly Gymnasium three sets to one. It was the fourth win of the season for PSUGA as they now move to 4-8 on the season entering a big weekend where they will play four Penn State University Athletic Conference games.

The win also marks the first time this season that the PSUGA Volleyball team has picked up back-to-back wins in 2017/18. They beat PSU-York three sets to nothing on Sunday and now beat WCCC to move to 4-8 on the season.
