GA Cross Country Continues to Have a Great Season

Pittsburgh, Pa. - The Penn State Greater Allegheny men's and women's cross country teams continue to make improvements as they travel to compete in Pitt-Greensburg's Bobcat Invitational Saturday afternoon.

The only woman competitor for GA was freshman Rachel Ramsey (North Versailles, Pa./East Allegheny). Ramsey raced the 3.2 mile course to the finish line to earn second place with a time of 21:43.

Sophomore Rob Meier (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) was the first GA runner to finish. He finished the 3.2 mile competition in 14th place with a time of 19:54. Freshman David Markotan (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward) finished not long after Meier. He completed the race in 20:51 in 25th place. Freshman Marcus Silvinski (Plainville, Ct./Plainville) completed in 40th place with a time of 25:37. Freshman runner Jesse Cheek (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward) began the race but did not finish due to injury.

Greater Allegheny cross country is set to compete in the PSUAC Championship at Penn State Worthington-Scranton on October 19th. Keep checking the website for additional infoamtion.
