Burchlaw Finishes Second to Elevate GA Cross Country in Brandywine Invitational

Brandywine, Pa. - The Penn State Greater Allegheny men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Penn State Brandywine for an Invitational, Saturday morning, as the GA men's team placed first among the Penn State University Athletic Conference teams for the second straight week.

For the women, freshman Casey Wash (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport Area) came in 46th place overall, positioning herself 18th out of the PSUAC student-athletes.

The men's team saw freshman Michael Burchlaw (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) place second indivually, first among the PSUAC student-athletes, all while battling injury. Freshman Ellis Massiah (Waterford, Ct./Waterford) was ninth overall and second in the PSUAC. Sophomore Codie Buglar (Elizabeth, Pa./Yough) was 41st overall and 13th in the conference as freshman Michael Risnear (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) came in at 44th place, 16th in the conference. Freshman Derek Pribanic (Penn-Township, Pa./Penn-Trafford) placed 48th overall and 20th in the conference as sophomore Chen Qinzhi (China) placed 78th overall.

With the men's finishes, they managed to place second overall out of 15 teams. Through the Penn State University Athletic Conference, the men's team place first place for the second straight week.

The Penn State Greater Allegheny men's and cross country teams look forward to next weekend, as they travel to the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Invitational. The women's race is set to begin at 1 p.m.
