Greater Allegheny Men's Cross Country Places First in PSUAC Championship

State College, Pa. - Through a 5.2 mile footrace, the Penn State Greater Allegheny men's cross country team earned first place in the Penn State University Athletic Conference Championship, Saturday morning, at University Park.

With an overall point total of 29 with an average time of 33:26, the Greater Allegheny men's team earned the first place trophy after their hard work against the Penn State varsity runners.

Freshman Michael Burchlaw (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) completed the race in 30:17, earning first place with a pace of 5:49/mile. Just after him was freshman Ellis Massiah (Waterford, Ct./Waterford), who finished second in a time of 31:30. Sophomore Andrew Bradley (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) completed the race in 31:49, sitting himself in 5th place with a paced mile time of 6:07.

Sophomore Codie Buglar (Elizabeth, Pa./Yough) placed 9th overall with a time of 34:01, pacing his miles in a time of 6:32. Freshman Derek Pribanic (Penn-Township, Pa./Penn-Trafford) crossed the finish line in 34:32, finishing 12th overall. Freshman Michael Risnear wrapped up the men's team for Greater Allegheny in a time of 36:22, good enough for 19th place with an overall paced mile time of 7:00.

Greater Allegheny's women raced just freshman Casey Wash (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport). Wash finished in 37:21, sitting herself in 26th place with a pace time of 10:02.

The next competition for the men is the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Championship in Lakeland, Florida. The race is set for November 5-6th.
