Penn State Greater Allegheny Cross Country Hosts Annual Lion Invitational

McKeesport, Pa. - Mark Bacco and the Penn State Greater Allegheny men's cross country team hosted their annual Penn State Greater Allegheny Cross Country Invitational, Saturday morning.

Ten teams competed in the early morning; the women kickoff of the day. Kent State Tuscarawas' Katelyn Dillon took first place overall with a time of 21:27 as Frostburg State took the meet as a whole with a total of 29 points. Carlow was just behind them with 32 overall points as Westmoreland County Community College rounded up third with 62.

The men's 8k began just after the women finished. Penn State Fayette's Cameron Coffey and Devin Pisarski crossed the finish line just three seconds from one another, 27:40 and 27:43. Freshman Fernando Leira completed the race first for Greater Allegheny in 32:35. Sophomore Michael Risnear (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) wrapped up the race for Greater Allegheny in 33:35.

Frostburg State swept the meet as their men tallied first with 25 points. Penn State Fayette earned second with 74 and Carlow with 93.

The Lions look to Saturday, as they compete against a few more Penn State University Athletic Conference competitors. The men travel to Penn State Mont Alto, race time set for 1 p.m.
