The women's basketball team hosted west division opponent Greater Allegheny today at the PAW Center in DuBois. An almost even 1st quarter saw promise for DuBois as they would only be down one point going into the 2nd quarter. Greater Allegheny went on a run in the 2nd quarter however as they would take a big lead to the locker room, 39-24.
DuBois would come back strong in the 3rd and 4th quarters, but it wouldn't be enough when the final horn sounded on this senior recognition day. Shannon Shaw would lead DuBois in points with 14 and would add 5 assist and 7 rebounds to the teams totals. Hayley Matter would put up a career high 11 points, while teammate Sarah Huston would have 9 points and grab 9 rebounds.
DuBois honored 7 girls that ill be departing the team next season: Megan Durandetta, Sarah Huston, Tara Leamer, Hayley Matter, Jordan Bundy, Larissa James-LaBranche, and Paige Pleta.
DuBois has one game remaining on Wednesday as they host Penn State Beaver for a 6:00 pm tip time.
