Greater Allegheny Basketball Big-Timers Addison and Fulton Secure Player of the Week Accolades

University Park, Pa. - In their first week back in action after winter break, Penn State Greater Allegheny basketball all-stars, Taylor Fulton and Petrie Addison, earn accolades from not only the PSUAC, but also the USCAA for the week of January 21, 2014.

Senior point guard Taylor Fulton (Duquesne, Pa./West Mifflin) contributed in two huge wins to advance her women's squad to a 6-7, 3-2 PSUAC standing. Fulton had a dynamic week as she stuffed the stat sheet with averages of 20.5 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists, and 8.5 steals per game. With her contributions, Taylor has earned herself the USCAA Player of the Week Award for the second time this season. Fulton is currently ranked first in the USCAA in assists and second in steals. 

Fulton continued on with her advantageous season as she went 70% (7-for-10) from the free-throw line in the 57-48 downing of PSUAC foe, Penn State DuBois. She also dumped 19 points, intersected 13 steals, dished out six assists and four rebounds. In the 77-54 advantage over Pitt-Titusville, Fulton swelled the score with 22 points, shelled out 12 assists, grabbing six rebounds and four steals.

Junior guard Petrie Addison (Fort Myers, Fla./Florida Christian) was named not only PSUAC Student-Athlete of the Week but also USCAA Player of the Week for his efforts in leading his team to go 1-1, 1-0 PSUAC this past week of play. This is the second time this season Addison has earned the USCAA Player of the Week accolade alongside his fourth time being honored as the PSUAC Student-Athlete of the Week.

To secure his standings in the polls, Addison averaged a double-double on the week for Greater Allegheny, tallying 28.5 points and 16.5 rebounds per game. His back-to-back double-doubles give him a running-total of 12 on the season, and he currently leads the PSUAC in both scoring, with 24.1 points per game, and rebounding, with 11.8 rebounds per game. 

In a 95-81 triumph over DuBois, Addison scored a season-high 33 points on 50% (12-of-24) of his shots taken from the floor. He boarded 17 rebounds alongside giving out three assists and taking three steals. In the narrow 85-80 Pitt-Titusville defeat, Addison put up 24 points along with grabbing 16 rebounds. He also added 57.1% (8-for-14) of his shots from the free-throw line.
