McKeesport, Pa- Junior forwards Aaron Byrd (Upper Malboro, MD/Dr. Henry A. Wise) and Nick Dizon (Rankin, PA/Woodland Hills) each scored 16 points, despite the Greater Allegheny (7-15, 4-10 PSUAC) men's basketball team falling to PSUAC adversary, Penn State Mont Alto, 88-52.
GA trailed 52-20 at the break, but turned in a much stronger second half, keeping pace with Mont Alto. The men shot 33% (22-66) from the floor, but allowed Mont Alto to shoot a staggering 57% (32-56). Dizon added seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals, while Byrd had six rebounds.
Greater Allegheny returns to the court next Tuesday, February 5 as they host Penn State Beaver. Tip-off for the Coaches vs. Cancer game is set for 8 PM.
