Two GA Men's Hoopers Record Double-Doubles in Takeover at California University of Pa.

California, Pa. - Senior forward Aaron Byrd (Upper Marlboro, Md./Dr. Henry A. Wise) and junior guard Petrie Addison (Fort Myers, Fla./Florida Christian) both record double-doubles in the 83-49 defeat over California University of Pa., Tuesday night.

California University jumped out infront of the Lions early, leading at halftime 47-22. Buckets contributed from senior forward Nick Dizon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) and sophomore guard Chris Dixon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Steel Valley) assisted Addison and Byrd through the first half.

Sophomore guard Peter Olumese (Switzerland/College du Leman) and sophomore guard Jordan Zeer (Victoria, British Columbia/New Westminster) cashed in for GA to inflate their tally to 49 to conclude the game. 

Three of the starting five earned double digit points for Greater Allegheny. Addison grabbed up ten boards alongside his 12 points. Byrd and Dizon both racked up 13 points, 10 and 9 rebounds respectively. Dizon was able to go 6-of-10 from the field, contributing 1-for-2 from the free throw line.

As a team, Greater Allegheny completed 57% of their foul shots taken from the line. California went 46.2 (36-78) from the arc.

California flexed and their strengths were too much, as their lead swelled to 34. California capitalized 35 points on turnovers and 30 points off the bench, assisting to their takeover on GA.

With the loss, Greater Allegheny falls to 0-3 on the season, after dropping a pair of games this past weekend at the PSUGA Tip-Off Tournament. California Univ. of Pa. advances to 1-2.

Greater Allegheny looks ahead as they are set to travel to Edinboro University on November 15 for a non-conference match-up. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.
