Greater Allegheny Men's Basketball Notch Another PSUAC Win over Lehigh Valley, 86-83

McKeesport, Pa. - The Penn State Greater Allegheny men's basketball team wrapped up their Penn State University Athletic Conference weekend, as Lehigh Valley dropped to Greater Allegheny in Wunderley Gymnasium, Sunday afternoon, 86-83.

Freshman guard Khari Hicks (Pittsburgh, Pa./Imani Christian) answered first for Greater Allegheny, as he downed a three-pointer. Sophomore guard Denzel Boyer-London (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) made a layup before senior forward Petrie Addison (Fort Myers, Fla./Florida Christian) slashed a trey, advancing GA 8-3 just three minutes into the contest.

Lehigh Valley inched their way back before Addison downed a layup and a three-pointer to extend the gap. Boyer-London and Hicks added two points apiece before sophomore forward Carl London (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) and Addison matched one another with a three-pointer apiece, moving Greater Allegheny to a 26-21 lead with less than nine to play until halftime. 

Boyer-London finished a layup before freshman guard Tony Patterson-Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Roxborough) added a layup to continue the home team's lead. Patterson-Brown put up six as Boyer-London downed four to pave the way for Addison to tally on the final points of the half, Greater Allegheny leading Lehigh Valley 42-39.

Senior guard Matt Williams (Philadelphia, Pa./Mastery Charter Shoemaker Campus) was the first GA Lion to answer in the second half, as he netted a free-throw. Addison netted two layups before Hicks knocked down a jumper to bring the game to a 49-43.  Addison drained a three-pointer before Boyer-London put up four points to swell GA to a ten point lead.

Hicks dropped a layup before he hammered down a trey to advance Greater Allegheny 61-48. Williams, Addison and London posted consecutive layups to continue to GA steamroll with just eleven minutes to play in regulation. Boyer-London and Williams dropped layups before Boyer-London hit a three-pointer, 74-66 Greater Allegheny.

Junior guard Chris Dixon (Homestead, Pa./Steel Valley) completed both free-throws with just five minutes left on the clock. Addison, Boyer-London and Dixon all contribute two points apiece before Boyer-London cashed-in both attempts from the foul line. Hicks and Boyer-London added a free-throw each to ride out the games scoring tally, Greater Allegheny in the drivers seat, 86-83.

Addison finished the game with a double-double, as the senior put up 24 points with 12 boards while shooting 74.1% (10-of-14) from the floor and 66.7% (4-of-6) from outside the arc. Boyer-London dumped on 24 points himself while dishing out seven assists, all the while completing 76.9% (10-of-13) of his shots taken from the floor. Hicks dropped 13 points next to his eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals. Patterson-Brown added eleven points with two rebounds as he completed 66.7% (2-of-3) from the foul line. 

As a team, Greater Allegheny shot 46.6% (34-of-73) from the flood while finishing 47.4% (9-of-19) of their shots from the foul line. The home team bucketed 44 points in the paint, 18 points off second-chance and 17 points on turnovers.
