McKeesport, Pa. - Recording Greater Allegheny's first triple double in school history, senior forward Petrie Addison (Fort Myers, Fla./Florida Christian) boosted his teams efforts with 20 points, 17 rebounds and 11 assists, lifting Greater Allegheny men's basketball to a 87-74 Penn State University Athletic Conference victory over Penn State Hazleton, Saturday evening.

Freshman Khari Hicks (Pittsburgh, Pa./Imani Christian) was the first to bucket points in the the contest, as the guard put up a three-pointer. Hicks made a layup before sophomore guard Denzel Boyer-London (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) knocked down a layup and one to mark the game 8-5 just three minutes in. Addison completed a layup before Hicks sunk another trey. Boyer-London slashed two layup's as sophomore forward Carl London (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) and Hicks knocked down a jumper apiece, GA leading 21-14 with 12 minutes to play until halftime.

Freshman guard Tony Patterson-Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Roxborough) and Addison teamed up for eleven points to wind the clock down to three in the first half. Junior guard Chris Dixon (Homestead, Pa./Steel Valley) completed a layup to take the lead back, 34-33. Patterson-Brown knocked down a huge three-pointer before freshman guard Antonio Lucic-Jozak (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) added a layup and Addison knocked down both from the foul line, GA leading the half 41-34.

Hazleton made up the first six points in the second half to bring the visiting team painstakingly close to Greater Allegheny. Patterson-Brown banked four points before Hicks and Addison matched each other with two points apiece, GA in the lead 49-45. Addison put down two layups and two free-throws before Lucic-Jozak notched a layup himself, Greater Allegheny now ballooned to 57-49 over Hazleton. 

Dixon drained a three-pointer before Lucic-Jozak added another layup, GA leading 62-49 with ten minutes to play in regulation. Patterson-Brown put up a free-throw as Hicks dropped four points on the Hazleton defense. Boyer-London, Addison and Patterson-Brown all completed layups to swell GA 73-57 with minutes winding down.

Lucic-Jozak notched five before Hicks completed a three-pointer and two free-throws with two minutes to go. Boyer-London slashed a free-throw before Lucic-Jozak completed the scoring drive for the home team with a free-throw and a layup, Greater Allegheny grabbing their second conference triumph of the season, 87-74 over Penn State Hazleton.

Addison made his place in the record books, as the senior forward banked 20 points, 16 rebounds and eleven assists to notch Penn State Greater Allegheny's first triple-double in the program's history. Addison bucketed 75% (6-of-8) from the foul line along with 53.8% (7-of-13) from the floor. He also tacked on four steals to his ending total. Addison is sitting in first place in the USCAA and the PSUAC for rebounds per game with 15.8 and third place in the PSUAC for points per game with 23.3.

Hicks was the games leading scorer, as the freshman downed 21 points with two rebounds, two assists and two steals while making 100% (2-for-2) from the free-throw line and 53.3% (8-of-15) from the floor. Patterson-Brown and Lucic-Jozak made their presence known on the floor, as the duo bucketed a combined 29 points off the bench. Lucic-Jozak went 66.7% (6-of-9) from the floor and 50% (2-of-4) from the foul line, while grabbing four boards. Patterson-Brown pulled down six rebounds as he shot 46.1% (6-of-13) from the floor. Boyer-London notched a double-double on the night, as he put up ten points, 12 rebounds and three steals as the sophomore dropped 66.7% (2-of-3) of his shots from the foul line and 50% (4-of-8) from the floor.

As a team, Greater Allegheny completed 45.3% (34-of-75) of their shots taken from the floor and 63.6% (14-of-22) of their attempts from the free-throw line. GA notched 46 points in the paint with 19 points off turnovers and 14 points on fastbreak. The largest lead of the game came to Greater Allegheny with less than two minutes into the game, when GA powerhoused over Hazleton 19 points.

Greater Allegheny (5-6, 2-1 PSUAC) look to continue their Penn State Unviersity Athletic Conference weekend, Sunday, as Lehigh Valley comes to Wunderley Gymnasium. The men are scheduled to tip-off after the women's match around 3 p.m.
